Excercise 7:Focal Lengths

My aim was to find a scene  that had a central area of interest but at the same time had quite an open view .Focusing on the same point throughout. I chose the building at the top of the steps as a focus point and then took a series of images with the camera tripod mounted with my zoom lens using its full focal range of 18-200mm

From the results i concluded that although the cameras position was identical for each image and the central area in each image mirrored that of the other images be it on a varied size,  the feeling of distance in image 1 @18mm quite surprising. At the other end of the scale the final image @ 200mm gives the feeling of being virtually within the subject.

My personal favourite was the image taken @ 170mm giving an impression that the building was sitting at the top of the steps and appears quite dominating within the frame.

Ipositions within the frame (1 of 9) positions within the frame (2 of 9)
